Guisti Admits Slaving Opera Singer Amid Fatal Shootings

Umberto Guisti confessed to holding the opera singer against her will after a quarrel over her departure for New York for an opera engagement arranged by Alexandre Annini. Hospital Receives Christmas Gift of Plunkett School

At a Board of Trustees meeting Judge H W Hopkins presented a deed to the Plunkett School property donated by Mrs May B Archbold and her children for hospital use. The board accepted with thanks and appointed Judge Hopkins and W D Hasty to study its best use. The property on Gordon Avenue includes a large colonial dwelling a school plant and a dormitory now used by Joye Commercial School. The Christmas dinner for trustees followed the meal.

Seven Indicted After Probe Into Indiana Service Co

In Paris Indiana trooper Eugene Teague was fatally shot during a pistol battle as Edward Shouse the escaped convict, arrived with two women companions. Indiana and Illinois officers had learned of Shouse presence and 15 patrolmen waited with Edgar County deputies in front of the France Hotel. The fugitive was captured after a chase that ended with Shouse's arrest.

Fire Aboard Rydboholm 500 Miles Off Scotland bound for Boston

The Rydbholm, a SwedishAmerican Line motorship, reported a fire in No 1 hold containing matches about 504 miles southwest of Rockall off Scotland. The freighter with general cargo and mail left Gothenburg December 13 and is not carrying passengers. It was expected in Boston on Christmas Day.

Raleigh NC December 20 North Carolina State College authorities outlined a football coaching proposition to Heartley W Hunk Anderson former Notre Dame mentor He indicated the proposal was interesting enough to warrant staying for further talks after meeting with the faculty alumni athletic council The article notes Anderson left in a sedan bought in Terre Haute and carried no further details.
