NASA equips four commercial Boeing 747s with sensors to measure pollution in the upper atmosphere along major air lanes. The five year program began this week with a United Airlines jumbo jet carrying the detectors for the first time.

United Air Lines Pilots Agree To New Contract
United Air Lines and the Air Line Pilots Association reached a new contract raising pilots wages by 22 percent over 31 months covering about 5,400 pilots. Senior captains on Boeing 747s would move from 66 336 to 70 320 and rise further by 1976, with other ship crews receiving similar gains. The pact awaits ratification by the union council.

Superport Bill Near Completion
P J Mills director of the Louisiana Offshore Terminal Authority says a conference committee is near finishing a bill to authorize deep water terminals for oil tankers. The measure would place licensing with the Transportation Department supervise by the Coast Guard and create an environmental liability fund funded by oil unloading taxes to cover spills. Terminals would extend up to 30 miles offshore with offshore piped oil transfer to shore.
