Grand jury to probe alleged jury tampering in Rhinelander case
White Plains N Y December 10 Supreme Court Justice Morschhauser ordered a grand jury investigation into alleged jury tampering in the Rhinelander marriage case. Juror Frederick Sanford testified of approached by Yonkers citizens including Dr James Bennett. Rhinelander attorney Isaac Mills said he will submit a brief seeking to overturn the verdict as contrary to the weight of the evidence.

Washington D C Dec 10 The Methodist Episcopal Church board of temperance and public morals met for its annual two day session and heard Rev Clarence True Wilson urge stronger temperance work. Secretary Deets Pickett praised prohibition as a century’s economic measure and called for renewed education and removal of unfair anti prohibition propaganda. The secretary reported efforts to train leaders and extend programs to Epworth Leagues and adult Bible study with aims to reach African Americans in the coming year.
