Macon Ga Dec 9 AP a Bibb County courthouse employee and custodian Hysler is charged with theft from a blind concessionaire at the courthouse. Sheriff E Julian Peacock said Hysler took a package of items worth 150 to 200 dollars without paying. Newberry pending investigation. He is held on bond.
Griffin Georgia December 9 AP a lawyer charged that union members were systematically excluded from Spalding county trial juries. Judge Leonard Hightower dismissed the accusation citing no reason. Duke claimed racial and economic bias violated equal protection.
A fresh flow of cold air from the northwest chills the Dakotas and Montana and heads toward the central states. Sub-zero lows are forecast with Havre Mont listing 15 below and Glasgow 18 below. Minnesota and Wisconsin expect sub-zero readings with significant cold across the plains.
Endurance fliers Dick Riedel and Bill Barris report refueling their ship by dropping to ground level and handing up gas via rope from a speeding jeep. After more than 46 hours aloft they plan to stay up as long as possible.

Atlanta December 9 The Georgia Public Service Commission heard a rate expert say bus lines earn more money than most industries. Sam Flynt testified against a proposed fare rise from 1 85 cents to 2 cents per mile by Southeastern Greyhound Atlantic Greyhound Tennessee Coach and Southeastern Stages. He noted a prior increase from 1 65 to 1 85 cents last August. Commissioners took the case under advisement.
Georgia will pay 808100 to acquire the Savannah quartermaster depot in full. Gov Talmadge pressed for state ownership while the port authority will operate the facility until the legislature acts. The plan replaces an earlier idea of 659100 plus rental credits and may lead to bonds for port development.
The Rev. Harold A. Lindsay a Pasadena minister pleaded guilty to speeding 70 mph on a parkway and other traffic violations in Los Angeles. Judge Roger A Pfaff fined him 50 dollars and ordered three days in jail for mediation about his attitude toward the court and traffic laws.
Three fugitives from southern road gangs Jed Fox 21 Robert Frank Woodall 31 and Eugene Vuiillan 24 were granted indefinite postponement of their return to prison sentences by the Ohio Court of Appeals keeping them from Alabama and Florida officers until their pleas of prison experience are heard. All are in Cuyahoga county jail. Appeals contended that the common pleas court had no right to sit in judgment of another state's penal system.
Atlanta December 9 Webb of Ruston County charges Edwin H Byars a murderer serving life was released illegally by the Pardon and Parole Board on November 12. Webb alleged a board member Grover C Byars was related within six degrees and barred from acting. Edwin Byars was paroled by a board including Everett and Byars. they resigned and were replaced. Webb seeks re-arrest and return to prison until a valid parole is granted.
The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Bond was celebrated Sunday at their Cairo home with a dinner and calls from friends and relatives. The couple, married in Grady County on December 8, 1898, have thirteen children, forty three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Sixty seven relatives and friends attended the gathering.
