Texas Grand Jury Begins Probe of All State Officers
Austin, Dec 8. The Travis County grand jury is impaneled for a full inquiry into highway funds expenditures. Judge J R Hamilton orders a complete probe of all officers from governor to justice of the peace with indictments where evidence exists. Attorney General Dan Moody, who highlighted alleged irregularities, will not testify unless summoned. Witnesses from the prior grand jury, including Frank Lanham and Joe Burchett, testified before the new panel. Ferguson aide James D B Ferguson and Dallas politician T K Irwin met in the governor's office, but details were not disclosed.
