In Nov 1948 a letter describes church efforts in Shaki Nigeria to discipline polygamy within congregations. Seven churches merged into a disciplined group of under two hundred members, with leaders tested yet loyal. In Atlanta today the Constitution printed an experimental pale blue advertisement to beat a newsprint shortage, with Delta Air Lines branding. A similar method was accepted by Jacksonville Journal and Miami Daily News, using the “bonday” process to create a grayish print. Adams of Lake Dowling Adams says the idea is new to the United States and may spread, while Roy Brown of the Atlanta Constitution calls it an interesting approach likely to prompt reviews of publication costs.
Washington AP says Stringfellow's ballot may determine if the International Woodworkers of America CIO wins representation for workers at J F Alexander Lumber Co in Talbotton Georgia. A supervisor challenge to Stringfellow was rejected and the NLRB ordered counting his ballot and a new tally to be certified after the original count showed 13 for IWA and 17 against.

Cairo Public Library accepted a gift collection of children's Bible stories from the William Powell Bible class of the First Methodist Sunday School in memory of the late Rev. Walter C. Jones. Interment at Cool Springs Cemetery. Survivors include mother Mrs Vesta Swilley and siblings in Sale City with several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were fifteen Sale City American Legion members.

In Macon Georgia on December 7 a judge granted Mr and Mrs Gilbert M Davis an injunction preventing their 26 year old son Gilbert M Davis Jr from entering their home. The petition accuses him of refusing work and abusing alcohol and drugs and misusing his father's name to obtain credit. They say they have spent thousands over three years trying to cure him but to no avail.
Carman Romano, 38, of New Haven was killed in Georgia while returning from a Florida vacation. His automobile collided with a parked truck, killing Romano and injuring two occupants of the truck. The car was demolished and the truck damaged.
