In Tuscaloosa on August 31 an 18 year old, Thurston Townsend, was seriously burned when his model airplane, tethered to a steel cable, contacted a 44 000 volt line. He survived but was blistered.

Mrs Claudie Miller Bateman formerly Claudie Perry of Seminole county, wed W A Bateman of Graceville Florida on August 24 in Donalsonville. Rev Whitt Aiken officiated at the Baptist Pastorium. The couple planned a Florida honeymoon and will run their Donalsonville filling stations together in the future.
