Board of alienists declare Russell Scott mentally deficient
Chicago August 5 the effort to save Russell Scott from the gallows with a proof of insanity was concluded with testimony of five alienists that they found him mentally deficient. One said he suffered paranoid dementia another he was not oriented in the county jail and another he suffered delusions of persecution. A fourth said the murder trial last December was the result of a conspiracy between Canadian and state officials to expose crooked officials. Three jailers testified that they believed him sane. Fifteen other jailers and five state alienists remain to be heard.
