Infant Freeman Rites Held At Pine Forest Cemetery

Grave side services for William Herman Freeman infant son of Mr and Mrs Herman Freeman were held at Pine Forest Cemetery in Donalsonville. The child died in Seminole Memorial Hospital. Survivors include two sisters Mary Lou and Vensia and two brothers Roger and Quinton all of Donalsonville. Paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs Henry Freeman and maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Briggs Slaton of Albertville Alabama. Cox Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Clearwater death of John Vick. Thomasville native dies in Florida

John Allen Vick, 53, formerly of Thomasville, died in Clearwater on Wednesday. A Grady County, Georgia native, he moved to Clearwater about 25 years ago and was survived by his wife Louise Pennington and two sons, Rayford and Lincoln, all of Clearwater, plus three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services for Newton Amos Martin, 61, former Bainbridge police chief, were held in Bainbridge with interment at Oak City Cemetery. He died after a short illness in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and served on the Bainbridge Police force, retiring as chief. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Gay Peace Officers Association. survivors include his wife Hazel LaVerne Haire, two daughters, two sons, and a sister and brother.

Snow R. E. Easterling Snow services held in Cocoa

Russell E. Snow, a Cocoa Florida attorney and Quitman native, had funeral services Monday at First Methodist Church of Cocoa and graveside rites Tuesday at Oak City Cemetery. He resided in Cocoa 36 years and was a church member. Related survivors include Mrs. Leslie Harrell Snow and niece Mrs. Lalla B. Kirkpatrick of Crystal River.

PETERSBURG Florida John W Clark 36 a former resident and native of Thomasville died unexpectedly Wednesday in a veterans hospital Funeral services are planned for today in St Petersburg Fla His father W Leroy Clark and grandmother Mrs W F Clark both of Thomasville and a brother William Franklin Clark Albany attend the family graveside in Thomasville.

Five On Probation In Incident Case

Five youths charged in a reported incident involving a young Black girl pleaded guilty in Superior Court on Wednesday. They received five years probation. Names listed by Sheriff C A Rehberg include Ralph Wilson 18 John Wesley Glenn 18 Jackie Scott 18 Bobby Joe Young 21 and Sam Wilson 21.

Fire damages home on Wimbleton Drive

Fire and smoke heavily damaged the home of Dave Smith at 2105 Wimbleton Dr Wednesday when flames began in a utility room. Thomasville Fire Dept reported an electrical short sparked the blaze which spread to the carport after reaching gasoline in a can and a lawn mower. damage estimate unavailable at press time.

The Supreme Court unanimously held General Motors violated antitrust law by trying to ban Chevrolet sales through discount houses in Los Angeles. Fortas called the action a classic conspiracy in restraint of trade, noting joint dealer and GM action aimed at eliminating discounters. Grady County Man Charged in Moonshine Case Near Pelham

A 48 year old Grady County man was charged with possession and transporting non tax paid whiskey after state and federal officers arrested him in Mitchell County near Pelham. They recovered 10 gallons of moonshine in his automobile. Archie Brinson of Cairo Route 2 was arraigned before Federal Court Clerk W J Trowell and bound over to the Federal Grand Jury for trial on a $1000 bond.
