Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Fanny Alma Yates Norman who died of a heart attack at her Bainbridge home. Rev. H. H. Shell led the service at her Evans Street residence with interment in Brinson Cemetery. She is survived by six daughters, two brothers, and nine grandchildren.

Bainbridge April 24 A bridge party hosted by Miss Elizabeth O Neal at Mrs Maston O Neals home on College Street featured California poppies and larkspur arrangements. High score went to Mrs Gordon Jester. hors d oeuvres and Coca Colas were served after the games. Participants included Misses Bessie Lewis Elinor Wilkes and Mesdames Edwin Warner Cheney Griffin Gordon Jester Maston O Neal and Baxter Williams.
Confederate Memorial Day will be observed Friday April 25 in Quitman at 11 o clock at the grammar school. For the first time in years there will be no prominent speaker. The program features a roster reading by S S Bennet and remarks by Mrs. A B Jones Jr and Mrs Charles Tillman with music and Confederate theme, graves to be flowered at the cemetery.

The Cairo Georgia Womans Christian Temperance Union met at Mrs W C Ham s home with many members present. Dues were collected from sixty five members. A letter from state president urged registration before May 1 to vote in the next election. The May program centers on My Town and the Liquor Traffic with talks on youth alcohol education and nation wide alcohol awareness.
Cairo Georgia residents report visits and travels as Mr. I Hobbs of Blakely visited friends here yesterday. Mr. Charlie F Sanders returned to Daytona last Saturday with relatives. he was joined by Mr. and Mrs. Max Sanders for a brief Daytona visit. Mrs. W B Mebley and her young daughter returned to St Augustine Florida after a week with the Pipkins family.
Cairo Ga April 24 Mr Reid Clayton Spears longtime Cairo post office clerk died at his home last night at 9 30 Funeral services were set with Rev William McTier to officiate and burial at Cairo cemetery Pallbearers included Alvah Reagan Wayman Bussey Gene Lashley Carl Brown Omner Thursby and Glenn Brown He was born August 1899 in Randolph County Georgia and moved to Cairo as a boy He attended Cairo High School and belonged to the Cairo Methodist church and Knights of Pythias He was unmarried Surviving are three brothers Marvin Dooran Ga Ralph Kingfisher Okla and Dozier Cairo and one sister Mary Spears Cairo Funeral services were by Forsyth Funeral Home of Cairo.
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie U. Adams were held at Long Branch Church near Cairo. She died Tuesday at her home after a ten day illness with paralysis and was buried in Long Branch cemetery. Born December 26, 1872 in Grady County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adams.

Surviving are husband Will Adams two sisters Mrs Jess Watts of Cairo and Mrs Minnie Morton of Madison Fla two brothers Tom Carvin of Madison and Samp Carvin of Ochlochnee. South Georgia Funeral Home of Cairo had charge of arrangements.
