Atlanta April 19 Governor A G Black of the Farm Credit Administration urged cooperative farm credit agencies to provide short term loans to farmers. Hesaid private lenders charge exorbitant rates and the cooperative method could lower costs. L C Foster and D W Brooks joined the discussion. Foster noted 10,700 US farmers cooperatives with over 3 million members and $92 billion in business. Georgia has 56 associations with 45,400 members and $6.09 million in annual business. The Georgia region shows only 11 percent of bank loans to cooperatives, far behind Florida.
