Former Thomasville Woman Ida Davis Dies in Montgomery

Mrs. Ida Davis, wife of Jonah G. Davis, died Sunday night in Montgomery Alabama after a long illness. Her body was brought to Thomasville for interment with services at Whiddon's Funeral Home followed by a funeral in Taurel Hill cemetery. She was born August 30 1852 and lived in Thomasville before moving to Montgomery about fifteen years ago. She was a Baptist and a devoted wife and mother.

Atlanta Freshman John Bratton Killed in Auto Crash

John Rainey Bratton of Atlanta a 20 year old University of Georgia freshman and Georgian football squad member died in an auto accident near Athens. Two companions Tom Hopper and Frank Percy of Dalton were injured. Bratton a Darlington School and Battle Ground Academy alumnus was cousin to Atlanta financier Robert Woodruff.
