Mion Fla April 14 AP Lieut Franklin D Roosevelt Jr plans to sea soon as commander of a sub chaser craft. The President’s third son earned the post on a very creditable record. He served with a destroyer group from Iceland to the South Atlantic and was slightly wounded at FaIermo during the invasion of Europe.
George R Lilly announces his candidacy for general of the Southern Judicial Circuit to succeed himself in the Democratic primary set for July 4 1944. He notes county dispersal and fuel shortages will limit in person voting but pledges to work for all voters and to perform duties faithfully if re elected.
