TheFourth Annual Flower Show has been moved to Sunday April 30 at the Clay Street Y. Doors open 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Due to cool weather few blooms are perfect for exhibit but all colored citizens are invited to exhibit flowers from their gardens.
Judson Reamy of New York, a commercial artist and son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Reamy of Quitman, spoke to the Quitman Art group at the Civic Center. He discussed drawing and painting as they relate to commercial art. The group, led by Biande Harrison, meets Mondays with an average attendance of 24 and includes professional men, women, andart students from the high school.
Donalsonville Garden Club announced plans for a spring flower show at Moseley Hall on Thursday April 27 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Officers for next year were elected, including Mrs. Ross Thomas as president and Mrs. J Thomas as vice president. The group discussed cemetery entrance gates and restoration of old graves, plus a church flower arrangement program led by Mrs. C D Thomas.
A portrait artist outlines a summer program of outdoor sketching classes. The planned sessions will let participants study live subjects in open-air settings, focusing on light, composition and figure drawing techniques.
Martha Blanche Mitchell and Sam McKinney Jackson wed in Bainbridge First Methodist Church in a small ceremony on March 24. The couple, now residing at 430 Shotwell Street, are preceded by families and attended by Miss Jean Jackson. Mr. Jackson’s background includes Climax High School and Army service. Mrs. Jackson formerly worked for Southern Bell in Bainbridge.
A meeting of the Junior High School Interest Association is held Friday at 3 30 p m in the Junior High School Auditorium for the election of new officers and no program is scheduled for the afternoon.

Charlie Augustus Bass, 78, a longtime Cairo resident, died at his home Wednesday after a three week critical illness. Born February 6, 1872, he lived in Bainbridge and Cairo, ran a meat market and livestock business, and belonged to the First Methodist Church. Funeral set for 3 p.m. at Forsyth Bearden Funeral Home chapel with burial in Cairo cemetery. He is survived by his wife Margaret, a daughter and nine sons, plus numerous siblings and relatives.

The ceremony united Miss Misé Copeland and Mr. George Edward Finleyson at the West Bainbridge Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon April 8. Sheffield likely runs for state legislature with no opposing candidate yet. Judge Lilly seeks re election with no challenger. Democratic committee fixes April 29 qualification, $75 note for commissioners and $150 for legislature, June 28 primary with majority rule.
Cairo officials request Civil Aeronautics Administration aid to finish Cairo municipal airport and add a modern administration building access road and other improvements so the facility can be listed as a completed Class I airport. Runways were completed last year with a recent upgrade.
