Charlie A Bass 78 of Cairo Dies After Illness
Charlie Augustus Bass, 78, a longtime Cairo resident, died at his home Wednesday after a three week critical illness. Born February 6, 1872, he lived in Bainbridge and Cairo, ran a meat market and livestock business, and belonged to the First Methodist Church. Funeral set for 3 p.m. at Forsyth Bearden Funeral Home chapel with burial in Cairo cemetery. He is survived by his wife Margaret, a daughter and nine sons, plus numerous siblings and relatives.
