Clara Lee Wilson was accidentally killed Friday afternoon in front of her home at 130 Sutton Lane. Funeral services were held at Hadley Funeral Home on Sunday April 9 at 5 30 p m with Rev Thompson officiating. Interment followed at Magnilia Cemetery. Hadley Funeral Home in charge.

Ensign James L. Nisbet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mason L. Nisbet of Bainbridge Ga, is assigned to Colgate University’s Naval Flight Preparatory School as a military and physical training officer. A former four-sport star and Alabama halfback, he captained Alabama’s 1935 undefeated team and later coached high school athletics before entering the Navy.

Final tally shows Bainbridge Army Air Field military and civilian personnel raised 6232.31 for the Red Cross drive. Basic cadets and aviation trainees gave 2318.89, cadet detachment 804.81, aviation trainee detachment 339.72, 679th Basic Training Squadron 820, civilians 2253.62, post engineers civilians 1009.20, and officers 1665.80.
A small fire of undetermined origin touched the science classroom on the second floor of Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge Georgia. A soldier on the grounds spotted a flicker of light, alerted the fire department, and the blaze was extinguished despite heavy fumes and smoke.
Mrs. W. J. Holder died at her Bainbridge home Sunday night after a long illness. She leaves seven sons Carlisle Syracuse N Y Jeff Tallahassee Fla Glen and Malcolm in the Navy Metz Bainbridge Major John Holder Washington D C and Arthur Los Angeles Calif and several daughters Mrs Robert Mayes Mrs T L Smith Bainbridge and Mrs Raymond Weatherly Moultrie. A well known member of the First Methodist Church she was active in local social life. Funeral plans will be announced by I W Cox Funeral Home.
A large crowd of civilians and service personnel gathered at Bainbridge Army Air Field for an Easter sunrise service. Free transport by Gunn's Motor Line brought attendees from Willis Park and nearby communities, with many arriving by car despite early hours. Local ministers Rev H H Shell Rev H H Heisler and J E B Ward led the observance in a pine setting with temporary grandstands and benches for white and colored spectators.
