Auction at Elzoma Plantation Benefits Stalomin Church Guild Room
The Stalomin Episcopal Church reports a very successful antique auction held Wednesday at Elzoma Plantation. Proceeds will furnish the Guild Room under construction with public donations and items donated for sale. Elzoma was lent by Gordon Hasty and N Pratt Secrest for the sale. Wares included silver spoons empire tables baby scales and special items such as a casein painting of the bidder's home a pastel portrait a painter a beef cow and an old fire engine from Winstead Plantation.

Local Future Homemakers of America members join national FHA Week with a full slate of activities at Central High School. The Boston Home Demonstration Club hosts a barbecued chicken supper at 6 30 p m Friday in the school kitchen. Adults pay 1 and 50 cent for children plates. Desserts and pies will be sold. Proceeds fund 4-H Club trips to Rock Eagle.
