Hampton Institute endowment funds scholar chair
The Old Dominion foundation grants 400000 to Hampton Institute for an annual humanities and natural sciences chair. Dr Jerome H Holland states the first scholar will be appointed soon. Hampton, founded 1868, offers bachelor and master programs and enrolls 2389 students from 32 states and 21 foreign countries. An August dance seminar at Tennessee State University will run June 19 to 29 for graduates and undergraduates under Dr Robert S Cobb Jr.
