A Kentuckian and a Yankee recount a tale of counterfeit money, a sick old Black person sold for profit, a dogged pursuit by Joe Cheatem, and a riverboat fate. The yarn ends with the Yankee jailed briefly for counterfeit coins before fleeing for Connecticut, vowing not to trade in Negroes or fake currency again.
