Richard Whipple a 15 year old boy from Court Road saw three youngsters in a canoe between Governor s and Wood Islands capsize. He towed the frightened youths to his boat the Coot and returned them to safety aboard his craft. The canoe belonged to Miss Doris Nichols and is now at the Whipples premises.
