New Life in Ancient Artillery Adds 77 Members
Captain Clarence J. McKensie of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery, a Winthrop figure, presided as 77 new members were admitted at the company’s meeting last Monday. He had proposed many of them, marking a record in the 282 year-old veteran corps.

Memorial Tablet Unveiling Sunday for Winthrop WWI Dead
A memorial tablet to Winthrop residents who paid the Supreme Sacrifice in World War I will be dedicated Sunday September 19 at 4 p m on the EB B Newton School lawn by the Winthrop Branch of the Special Aid Society for American Preparedness. The program includes buglers, colors, flag raising from Fort Banks, unveiling by Miss Maude K Murray, roll call of the deceased, band, songs, and several speakers.
