Fall Flower Show Proves Most Successful Autumn Event
Inclement weather did not dampen the eighth annual Flower Show of the Garden Club of the Winthrop Woman's Club. A record 850 attendees filled the event at the Garden Shop Herb Center Tea Room and artist sales with Mrs. John Brown as chair. Exhibits earned numerous awards across 16 classes, highlighting blooms, arrangements, and potted plants with multiple named residents and local groups recognized for top entries.

Scholarship Fair Planned Sept 29 for Winthrop Club

Transportation Committee Votes to Inform Town on Rail Bill
At a Tuesday meeting the Transportation Committee decided to mail a comprehensive report to every home next week detailing the local transportation issue. The bill would allow the Boston Elevated to acquire the Winthrop branch of the Boston Revere Beach and Lynn railroad. Garden Club Meeting Set for September 18

A newly organized Theatre Guild of Winthrop will present four plays this winter led by director Louis Sheehan. The first production George and Margaret opens in October with a professional approach and affordable admission. Selectmen Call Public Meetings on Transportation Issue
