Public Hearing on Sewage Disposal in Boston Area

Park Tennis Tourney Finals Draw Crowded Sunday

On Sunday afternoon the Park Tennis Tournament finals began at two o clock. Outside seats held over three hundred fans as John Evans faced Edward Rittner in the men's singles final. Umpire Mr Clatur started play promptly and after many fine rallies Rittner won the first set.

Winthrop Elks To Hold Outing Sunday

Winthrop Elks plan an annual lodge outing for families and friends on Sunday September 11 at Centennial Grove Essex Mass. DeLuxe buses depart from the Elks Home at 10 o clock with a small adult transport fee and children ride free. Games and food options are available with lunches brought or purchased at the Grove. Convenience Station On Beach Side Planned For Revere Beach

Captain John J. Murphy of the Revere Beach Division, Metropolitan Police, says a $20,000 convenience station will begin construction soon on the beach side of the boulevard opposite Dolphin Ave. The building will include rest rooms, a police sub-station, boat and life saving equipment, and will not require purchasing land on the Winthrop side. Officials expect minor details to be settled within a month.

Enrollment Mirrors Last Year In Public Schools

Registration across town public schools shows 3 218 students on opening day matching last year. Shirley Street Elementary leads with 485 enrollments followed by Highlands with 434. Eri B Newton 369. Center School 848. Junior High 806. Senior High 1776 students reported.
