Assault and Robbery Reported at Hermon and Main
Axel J. Herland, 38 Madison Jr., was assaulted and robbed by three youths at the Hermon and Main streets intersection around 11 30 PM Tuesday. They tackled him, took his pocketbook though he says it had no money, and he reported the incident to police about 15 minutes later.

Man Found Dead in Hospital After Boarding at Local House
Police were informed a man died in a hospital after being found wandering in Somerville. He carried a note with an address at 86 Hermon Street but could not be matched to a named resident. He was unknown to investigators and had no other identifying items. Mrs. Lester Edwards hosts her sister Mrs. Mabel Coffin and two children from Bahia, Brazil, while Mr. Coffin plans three months vacation in the U.S.

Civic League Disbands In Winthrop After Officers Moved
At a October 19 meeting, the Winthrop Woman's Civic League voted to disband due to removal of officers and lack of interest. A committee of Mrs. Bradbury, Mrs. McLeod, and Mrs. Godfrey will settle affairs. Remaining funds to be used for the town's best interests.
