Miss Thelma Whitney Seibert daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur M Seibert of 58 Birch Rd Winthrop married Philip Brandon of Detroit in a Detroit Presbyterian Church rectory ceremony at 9 30 Tuesday morning The bride a Winthrop High School 1920 graduate and Leland Power School alumna has acted on stage in New York and Western cities The couple plan to live in San Luis Potosi Mexico after a honeymoon in the West and Mexico City The ceremony was witnessed by Miss Marion Cadwallader and Hal V Cunningham with Mrs Josephine G Harris and Mrs MacElroy in attendance
A pretty wedding occurred in Galveston Texas on September 19 with Miss Eleanor MacElroy daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Mac Elroy of Somerville marrying Charles Chick Harris son of Mr and Mrs Alfred Harris of Winthrop. The ceremony was a double ring rite at 8 pm in St Marys Cathedral conducted by Rev T T Kirwin with a small guest list from Texas and Mexico.
Miss Mariella Louise Chase, Lasell Seminary graduate and only daughter of Mr and Mrs William H Chase of Johnson Avenue, wed Stanley Stedfast last Saturday evening at the Chase home 89 Johnson Avenue. Rev L G Ayers officiated. Constance Clark maid of honor Dorothy Cook bridesmaid Ruth Kirk bridesmaid. Best man Fred Huss. They will reside at 91 Johnson Avenue after a wedding trip. Mrs Stedfast born in Woonsocket Rhode Island and has lived in Winthrop.
A Community Hospital building fund drive reports $31,638 pledged across 33 of 40 teams after the first meeting at Odd Fellows Hall. Board of Trustees members pledged $18,000, with $13,638 from team efforts, as workers aim to push past $50,000 at the Thursday night follow up.
Lieutenant Edw G Richardson of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company leads the Boston unit from Faneuil Hall to the Hoosac Tunnel Docks for their 10 day Havana Cuba outing aboard the SS Fort Hamilton. Capt Frank L Nagle ill, Richardson acting commander for six weeks, hopes Nagle may attend receptions in Havana. About 300 members join the trip with a 25 piece band, with parades, sports, band concerts, a Havana reception with President Machado, and a banquet at Hotel Sevilla Biltmore attended by American and Cuban guests.
