New Methodist Church To Be Dedicated Next Sunday

A new Methodist church will be dedicated Sunday June 1 with additional ceremonies the week of June 1. Mr Harry A Camp is noted in the Hour as a sponsor. An organ memorial gift from Mrs Charles L Barlow will be unveiled at 7 30 p m in the evening service.

Legion Carnival July 4th Plans Narrowed

The meeting notes July 4th events and related Legion Carnival plans with dates placing the Friday holiday about six weeks away. Officials discussed scheduling and logistics for the observance and associated activities.

Funeral services for World War Vet Louis M MacCartney

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 200 o clock for Louis M MacCartney a World War veteran who died Monday. He had worked in the engraving department of the Boston Post for a year or more. He leaves a wife two children in Winthrop a father sister and brother in England. Interment was in Winthrop Cemetery. Rev Ralph M Harper officiated.

Flag Pole Erection Delayed to Next Week

The town flag pole for the town hall grounds has been postponed and will be erected next week to secure the pole in place.

Local Knights to Visit Everett From Winthrop

A Winthrop delegation will assemble at St John’s Hall Lincoln Street at 7 45 pm sharp. Autos will be on hand to transport members in large numbers to Everett for the visit.
