Drive to raise funds for Community Hospital set April dates
The committee leading a drive to fund the Community Hospital plans to take over and enlarge Metcalf Hospital from April 2 to 15. Precinct chairmen and captains will be named next week and a house to house canvass will mirror Liberty Loan drives. Treasurer William H. Gardner is accepting advance subscriptions at 40 Willow Ave.

Fire at Beach Road destroys home injures residents
Last Friday morning a fire at the corner of Beach road and Shore Drive caused rapid flames. Harry ONeil and Officer Dan Murphy rescued occupants including Mrs. David Roberts and 14 year old Nellie Lappen before 46 year old Edward C. Cozens died days later. Damages estimated at $1500.
