Norwood E Kellenberger formerly of Winthrop Golf Club now plays for Salem Golf Club and won the M G A open medal play tournament with a 73 total on the local nine hole layout. He posted 37 and 36 in two circuits, no birdies, and finished two strokes ahead of the runner up after a disciplined round of regulation golf.

National Jamboree Of Scouts Aug. 21
In Washington a vast national Jamboree unfolds with 16 000 stakes marking 360 acres for tents and 100 more acres for demonstrations. About 30 000 Boy Scouts from across the U S and abroad will gather August 21 through 20 to experience the largest outdoor camping event in American history. The camp will supply 1 050 000 gallons of water daily for drinking bathing cooking and safety, with 2 200 scouts able to bathe under showers simultaneously.

Brendan Keenan to Be Married in July
Brendan Keenan sails to Europe this Saturday after a Boston season. He will marry Countess de Lamartiniere at the end of July and return to America in early October. Town Receives 4950 From Beer and Wine Licenses

Winthrop Post No. 146 American Legion opens its four day carnival at Ingleside Park on July 3 to 6 with horse and pony events boxing wrestling a midway band concerts and refreshments. A July 4 fireworks display and a Friday program includes an amateur night fashion show and a monster beano. A 1935 Ford Tudor sedan and other gifts are to be awarded.
