Winthrop Golf Club Plans Family Day at Clubhouse
Winthrop Golf Club invites members and friends to a Family Day on Saturday July 13 at the club. The program includes an 18 hole medal play tournament a handicapped kickers event long drive and nearest to the pin contests and a putting contest with prizes. A buffet supper and evening dancing run from 6 to 12 with a grand drawing for a 1935 Master DeLuxe Chevrolet between 9:30 and 10. President Jack Hill is urging full attendance.

Regulations Planned for Donovan Beach Drain Extension
The Board of Park Commissioners seeks a 500 transfer from the E and D Fund to extend the Donovan Beach box drain 100 feet farther onto the flats. They will sink the current drain to beach level to remove a dangerous deep ditch. Two lifeguards are stationed daily and new rules will require bathers to follow posted regulations including wearing regulation jerseys and trunks.
