New Pro at Golf Club Brings Noted Amateur to Winthrop
The Winthrop Golf Club announces a new professional with ten years as a caddy at Wollaston Golf Club. He is a former Caddy Championship winner in Massachusetts, Junior Championship Medalist, and has competed in the National Public Links and New England Public Links. He tied for best gross in the State Championship at Wollaston and won the Caddy Masters Championship at Belmont Springs. Now a professional and former assistant to J J Keenan at Charles River CC, he will offer lessons and a full range of clubs and services at Winthrop starting this season.

Fires This Week In town shed and Lewis Avenue house
The Fire Dept. responded to a still alarm at the town shed on Reverest where floor timbers burned. Tuesday noon box 63 was pulled for a cellar fire at 20 Lewis Ave. The blaze began in a wood pile and spread through the floor and partitions. the home is owned by Harry Wise and occupied by Hugh A. Roberts Jr.
