Christmas in Winthrop drew thousands as the Bennison estate displayed a grand Nativity with life size figures by Nardi, set among evergreen borders and blue electric lights. The feature scene showed camels and Wise Men traversing palm dotted sands toward the Holy Family in a Jerusalem landscape, illuminated by moonlit blue glow. Guest Preacher Ralph Ostergren to Lead Week of Prayer Services
Rev. Ralph C. Ostergren of Boston will be guest preacher at the Baptist Church during the Week of Prayer January 1 to 8. He attends Sunday and evening services at 8 o’clock, with a closing January 8 including morning worship and Holy Communion. Ralph Ostergren’s Faithful Path From Mission to Ministry
Ralph Ostergren was converted at twelve and joined Burr Street Baptist Church in St. Paul. He attended the University of Minnesota, studied at the University of Chicago Divinity School, and worked as a YMCA secretary in Poona, India, and served in Mesopotamia, Siberia, and Irkutsk with the YMCA and Red Cross before being ordained in St. Paul in January 1920 and taking a pastorate in Charleston, West Virginia.
