Bennison Nativity Scene Returns At Winthrop Estate
Mr and Mrs Bennison invite the public to view their enlarged Nativity display with new lighting at their Winthrop estate. Last year about twenty thousand visitors viewed the scene and carols will be sung nightly through New Year’s. Shirley Temple will play organ in a garage room, Santa Claus with reindeer will greet children.

Narrow Gauge Petitions Federal Court For Permission to Abandon Service
Petitions seeking permission to surrender their certificate of incorporation and abandon service at midnight January 10 were filed by the Boston Revere Beach and Lynn railroad and the Point Shirley Street railway in the Federal District Court Monday. Judge Elisha H Brewster set January 3 as the hearing date. Executives also petitioned to terminate the contract with employees. The ownership partial surrender covers 10 574 of 10 608 shares. The filing notes no reserves to cover past maintenance, inventory shrinkage, snow and ice removal, or bankruptcy expenses. Cash on hand is estimated at 750 by January 10. The town selectmen refused a special meeting urged by citizens. they will act only if the court orders the road closed. The hearing on January 3 leaves little time to prepare for transportation in Winthrop.
