No liquor was sold in Winthrop Tuesday evening after repeal of the 18th Amendment and to date no licenses have been granted for hard liquor in the town. Chairman John J. Town Meeting Adjourns Due to Quorum Shortage
A special town meeting was adjourned from last Monday night to Friday at 7 30 p m because the required quorum of 125 members was not met. Funeral Services For Assessor Alfred Tewksbury To Be Held Today
Funeral services for Ex-Representative Alfred Tewksbury, who died Tuesday night, will be held today at 2 o'clock in the First Church of Winthrop, Methodist Episcopal. Interment will be in the family lot in Winthrop Cemetery. Tewksbury, a member of one of Winthrop's oldest families, had served on the Board of Assessors for twelve years and had been ill prior to his death.
