Chairman Edw G Richardson and Mrs Richardson traveled to the Highlands after visiting Vermont hills. Lt Richardson reported an interview with the President's father and noted the Colonel was improved yet weakened following his operation.

Police Chief Narrowly Escapes Injury in City Collision

Police Chief William A. McNeill escaped serious injury yesterday afternoon after his car collided with a truck at the Prescott and Chelsea streets corner while en route from East Boston to Winthrop. He was driving alone and sustained no serious harm.

Vaudette Season Opens at Winthrop and Dream Theatres

Manager Charles L. Hatch announces a new vaudeville season with five top acts and a feature picture each Wednesday at the Winthrop and Dream Theatres. Admission is 35 cents, and Winthrop boosters are urged to attend. Mrs. Margaret L. Coggin to open a lunch shop at 14 Hermon Street next week. She is widow of Capt Lon Coggin of the Winthrop Fire Dept.

Elks Community Circus awards Dodge coach to local carrier

The Elks Community Circus and Country Fair awarded a Dodge coach to John F. Hasson, a Winthrop post office letter carrier. The event drew large crowds, with winners listed for multiple kiddie races, chest prizes, and a note of thanks from the Winthrop Lodge Elks.

Hospital Donation Day Observed Next Tuesday

Residents are urged to support the Community Hospital by donating usable items next Tuesday. Acceptable contributions include food, clothing, furniture, rugs, soap, butter, malted milk, sugar, and similar essentials left at the hospital office for collection.
