Tewksbury Named Streets Superintendent Replacing Mahaney
Fred A. Tewksbury was named superintendent of streets to succeed Timothy J. Mahaney, who for years held both streets and building inspector posts. Mahaney was reappointed Building Inspector. The board split the two offices, returning separate departments with each official to earn $1500 annually. Mahaney’s long service included snow removal and Beach section debris work and he led many town offices and veterans’ activities. Tewksbury previously held the street post in earlier years and took over duties this week.
