Fargo to Host Largest Norwegian Lutheran Convention
Fargo will host what is billed as the city’s largest convention to date, with sessions at the Auditorium for seven days. The event gathers ministers and delegates of the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America, a merged body of over 500,000, mainly from Norweg ian groups, including district leaders from St Paul. Organizers expect about half last year’s attendance due to wartime conditions, and have opened churches, dormitories, and hotel rooms in Fargo and Moorhead to accommodate guests. The program includes daily sessions, with ordination of about 40 candidates on the big Sunday, under Rev J Nordby and Dr H G St Paul, with local representatives traveling to Fargo for the week. The convention ends Thursday the 13th.
