Calcasieu Parish prints new tax forms and ferries declared public
The Police Jury of Calcasieu Parish Louisiana meets and orders printing blank receipts for parish taxes and licenses for 1870 1871. It declares Turner s McCorquodale s and Whitman s ferries on the Sabine plus Hartman s Nix s Carriere s on Calcasieu Darbonne Leblanc s Lopez s on Mermentau and Miller s Chaumot s on Bayou Nezpique to be public ferries. It appoints a committee to inspect the courthouse and reports on repair costs.
