Colonel Theodore Roosevelt spoke in Joplin Missouri addressing a crowd estimated near 10 000 at Miners Park. He touted the progressive platform and tariff as key issues praising the third party cause and urging Missourians to back a government that serves the nation.
Baker dairy operator southwest of Hobart reports eleven cattle killed after grazing briefly in a green sugar cane patch. Veterinary exam found stomach injuries from eating cane. Similar cane-related stock deaths had occurred recently in the county. neighbor W A Bailey lost seven hogs after exposure to the cane.
Freddie Burns arrives from Miami to finish Till training for the Burns Gordon bout on Thursday night. R F Moss returns from Joplin Webb City and Carterville after inspecting greenhouses.
In Briartown, Muskogee County Oklahoma, a clash between white planters and Black cotton pickers escalated after the decision to import Black labor for harvest. Three men were wounded, two fatally, as gunfire raked negro cabins amid warnings to leave. Sheriff Wisener deployed deputies as panic spread and orders to depart were reported.
Don Peters and Frank Baughman charged with killing Enforcement Officer Bowman near Caney were held by Commissioner Convers in Tulsa in $10,000 bond and jailed in default. Fred Behning and Thomas Lamb, other We gag members, still at large with expected arrest soon.
A large crowd on Wilson Street near the Frisco depot watched Ted Hunt race to a Frank Harvey House dinner route. He removed his shoes to win as friends wagered he could not. he collected their money after the feat.
Miss Hessie Brewer of Vinita will marry 4 J McConnell of Oklahoma City in November. McConnell serves as secretary of the MC4 in Oklahoma City. Miss Brewer is the daughter of the Rev and Mrs TH Brewer former presiding elder of the district. After the marriage they will move to Calcutta, India to make their home.
The county court announces jurors for the upcoming term including W. Group, Frank Franklin, Sota Campbell, PhD Horny, W. Byrd, Holden, Lay, T. J. Rogers, P. Jones, L. Conner, Swange, and Clevenger among others.

The Wilson Marshall Democratic Club of Craig County met at the Court House on September 24 1912 with J J Spencer named temporary chairman K N Williamson secretary and A D Bennett vice president A committee on resolutions and bylaws was formed and tasked with drafting constitution and bylaws The group adopted a platform to elect Woodrow Wilson and Thomas R Marshall and to mobilize county Democrats for the presidential campaign Notes from the meeting detail officers executive council and finances with plans to enroll about 350 members and organize precincts and precinct officers.
A large crowd watched the Kentucky Rosebuds win two of three games at the bowling alley. The Rosebuds totaled 1942 pins while AMSune scored 101. W T Voyles posted the best average across the three games.

The crowd packed streets as veterans and townsfolk greeted Roosevelt before his Tulsa and Oklahoma City stops.
A wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Ratelif between Theron Dodd of Parsons Kansas and Miss Nettie Duncan of Vinita. Rev W C Davis performed the ring ceremony before a small gathering. The couple left at 9 45 a m for a honeymoon in Galveston and Gulf coast towns, planning to return to Parsons by October 1.
