Minnesota Governor John A Johnson died at Rochester hospital at 3 25 this morning after an operation last Wednesday for a long standing illness. He had been in frail health but displayed calm courage to the end as physicians fought to save him. His wife Mrs Johnson and Margaret Sullivan were at his bedside when he breathed his last and he murmured farewell to his mate.
In Mounds Oklahoma on September 21, members of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union assisted a deputy sheriff in raiding joints and seizing bootleg liquor. One by one joints were raided as women carried armfuls of bottles. The sheriff obtained search warrants for more places and some occupants dumped goods into a wall containing twelve tons of water.

A Buick driver named Dillon was injured when his car crashed into a telegraph pole during the Kansas City Star trophy event held in Kanwan City Today. F K Kirtland, a passenger, was also injured in the collision and the car was demolished.
A fire in Topeka Kansas early today obliterated the Otto Kuehne preserving and pickling works with an estimated loss of 125000 dollars. Injured were Harry Jones and H C Gurther when walls fell. Jonos died later. Otto Kuehne survived severe burns while trying to save his property. Origin of the blaze is unknown.
