Motor Cars Form to Start on M O G Northern Extension
Muskogee Oklahoma September 7 the first passenger service to be inaugurated over the M O G on the northern extension will be quick motor car service between all points on the line. Two of the company's fine new motor cars of the gasoline electric type will be delivered about the middle of this month and will be placed in service October 1 between Henryetta and Muskogee and Muskogee and the northern terminus of the extension increasing the northbound run as the line is completed. The contemplated terminal at Baxter Springs Missouri where trackage over the Frisco into Pittsburg Kansas may be obtained is about 110 miles from Muskogee. The new line from this city to Baxter is one of the prettiest in the country. Natural rock has had to be blasted out nearly the entire way but a grade of one half of one per cent has been maintained. About ten miles north of Wagoner the roadbed ascends the bluff beside the Grand River and runs along a natural rock ledge for mile after mile. In scenic beauty this run has no equal in this part of the country and with motor car service the M O G will keep in touch with towns along the route while drawing travel from pleasure seekers and prompt transfers to Frisco and Rock Island trains at junction points in northern Oklahoma Kansas and Missouri.
