Oklahoma Race for State Chairman Heats Up in Cruce Haskell Clash
Oklahoma City March 25 A factional fight over the Democratic state chairman post pits Governor Cruce and allies against former Governor Haskell. Haskell sought support from Cruce foes and Tulsa national committeeman Galbreath allies to back George Keys of Lawton, while Cruce supporters back Tom Harrill of Wagoner. The contest shapes control of the state central committee ahead of the April 6 meeting to elect a new chairman as the battle for U S senator and congress intensifies.
