Ravia Oklahoma hosts a promising gold field with rich ore deposits extending across 150 to 250 square miles. Prospectors from Chickasaw and Choctaw nations flock to the area as mining parties, with 14 mines opened and capital flowing from Oklahoma and Texas.
Oklahoma City February 20 The statewide rainfall over the past week is valued at millions for farmers. A six month drought broke as two to three inch totals fell from Muskogee Sulphur Alva Woodward and other areas. Winter wheat was at risk but moisture improved prospects across the state with the March bulletin due to confirm final impact.
The Craig County Farmers Institute met at the Commercial Club rooms and unanimously resolved to urge county commissioners to install dipping vats and take steps recommended by the state board of agriculture to rid the county of the cattle tick and place it north of the quarantine line. An eight member committee including Dan Tittle and A M Voyles was named to oversee the effort, with the next meeting set for Saturday March 4 at 2 PM at the Commercial Club rooms.

Glenn Curtis landed a hydro-aeroplane on the water beside the armored cruiser Pennsylvania and was hoisted aboard. The aircraft then returned to the water and Curtis flew to Hangar on North Island, demonstrating the hydro-aeroplane can operate without a ship deck platform for naval use.
Washington February 17. The house committee on foreign affairs voted nine to one against the Bennett resolution seeking Canadian annexation negotiations with Great Britain.
Vinita saw two blazes on Sunday with one box car fire on the Katy switch damaging a car before firefighters stopped the spread and a second fire in the Thompson building housing Parker Wise Investment and Vinita Abstract. A gas stove sparked the blaze and quick police alerts limited damage to a small floor hole with an estimated loss around five dollars.
Guthrie Oklahoma Feb 20 bankers from St Louis Chicago and Kansas City arrived for Group 1 session today of the Oklahoma Bankers association. They will attend Group 2 at El Reno Tuesday and then meetings at Chickasha Ardmore and Claremore through Friday. Guthrie bankers plan a ball and banquet tonight. The day’s session is expected to discuss tightening laws against bank robbery.
Miss Mae Dowling buys Mrs Delaney’s interest in the Vinita Millinery business and will run the Ratcliff store. She returns from the east with an elaborate new line and names Miss Carrie Montgomery as trimmer. Dowling asks for patronage and promises the best hats in Vinita.
Sheriff Ridenhour reported an incident on the east side where Officer B. 5. Webb struck John Williams, a Black man, over the head with a revolver and left him unconscious for a time. Webb found a crowd of negroes, stepped on Williams foot, and Williams uttered insults before the blow.
In Vinita last Monday Frank Gleason wed Miss Mary Coyne. Willie Allen tied with Leona Hibbs and John Weaver wed Maggie Hibbs in Vinita. Joe Fritz now runs the Estella post office. Sam Calvert plans a Mexico return. Mrs Mollie Downing visited Vinita Tuesday. Minor rains refreshed Estella area.

Fruit trees bloom risks across Ardmore Muskogee and surrounding areas as cold snaps threaten crops. In Tulsa a 36 hour downpour boosts oil and agriculture, marking water return to streams and plans for drilling next week.
The U S Supreme Court found the mayor and council members of Clay Center Kang guilty of contempt for destroying litigious material before the case. It released them on payment of costs of the contempt proceedings after dismissing an appeal from the lower court ruling over the electric light plant dispute.
The Womans Foreign Missionary Society extends heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Lucy B. Simms upon the death of her brother Joseph Hayes. A copy of the resolutions will be recorded, given to Mrs. Simms, and published in the city paper. Authored by Mrs. J. M. Cantrell, Mrs. Charles Hunt, and Mrs. Davis Hill.
