State seeks sugar rate cut protest in Oklahoma
Guthrie Okla April 17 The state nation commission is preparing a protest to the Interstate Commerce Commission over proposed sugar rate increases. Supplement No 1 to Western Trans Continental Freight Tariff No 3 lists higher rates from California terminals to Oklahoma. It argues current Oklahoma rates are raised and that Kansas City rates advantage California shipments. If the May 15 crossing Kansas into Oklahoma triggers a 8 cent per 100 pounds charge, the plan faces pushback amid investigations to justify the rise.
