Editorial notes that work on the replacement South Fork Bridge will cause long term lane changes on the U S 340 522 corridor from Front Royal. Northbound Shenandoah Avenue drivers must shift left near the bridge and may find the left lane becoming a left turn for Strasburg Road at the north end, with merging issues during peak traffic. A six lane bridge due late 2017 will reconfigure Strasburg Road and add a left turn lane at 18th Street to ease the bottleneck.
