Training Center Grants Drive Regional Center Plan
A grant of 430000 funds construction and engineering design for a training center. Additional grants and county funds are sought to complete the project. The center may become regional, serving surrounding counties including Page, Rappahannock and Clarke, which currently use other centers in Shenandoah, Frederick, Rockingham and Loudoun counties. Mabie notes interest from nearby localities to join as regional partners.

Supervisors weigh state code impact on middle school project
Fork District Supervisor Archie Fox and Beahm warn that the 2012 Code and a state Stormwater Management Program under the Chesapeake Bay Act may delay the project. DEQ regulation finalization and potential county delays could push construction from 2015 to 2017, but officials vote to delay one year to hold costs and mitigate risks. The board unanimously supports the gamble.
