Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to add entryway and tower
The Glass-Glen Burnie Foundation seeks a conditional-use permit to launch phase two of its master plan at the 200 acre site. A new western entrance near James Wood Middle School will connect to a trail network and an amphitheater for 3000, with a 50 foot silo repurposed as a viewing tower. The project budgets about 26 million dollars and timelines depend on fundraising.

Veterans hike continues along National Scenic Trails program
The Warrior Hike program drew 31 of over 100 applicants this year with eight veterans on the Appalachian Trail trek. Participants hike 2185 miles across 14 states from Georgia to Maine, starting mid March and ending mid September. Veterans rest weekly at stops for meals and showers. Front Royal VFW supports the effort for three years, pairing older and contemporary veterans through shared stories. US Army veteran Shawn White praised the transformative experience and cross post support across VFW chapters.
