Mount Jackson veteran recalls Pacific battles and life after service
A Mount Jackson Marine veteran recounts World War II service in the Pacific. He earned memories of Guadalcanal and Okinawa, endured disease and injuries, returned home to raise a family, worked as a tractor-trailer driver and deputy, and now attends the Memorial Day ceremony at Memorial Park. He inspired his son to serve, and his community honors him each year with the town Memorial Day observance.
