Front Royal rezoning request goes to council without recommendation

Front Royal Planning Commission deadlocked 2-2 on a rezoning proposal by NVR Inc. to change 44 acres from Estate Residential to Residential R1A for Saddle Crest, increasing density to about three units per acre. The plan faces road traffic concerns and questions about infrastructure and a future east west connector.

Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Front Royal

A vehicle struck a juvenile pedestrian at South Street and South Royal Avenue in Front Royal at about 7 15 p m Friday. Emergency responders transported the victim to Warren Memorial Hospital where they treated and released him. Police do not plan charges, according to Capt. Brian Whited of the Front Royal Police Department.
