Valley Health six hospitals reported 37 inpatients with COVID and two with influenza on Tuesday, slightly above 34 COVID patients on Thursday and more than double the 18 cases noted on Nov. 1. Dr. Nicolas Restrepo cited holiday demand and longer ER wait times as continuing challenges.

Shenandoah Supervisor Walter J Mabe ran as an independent and won in 2019.
Frederick County Board member Shawn Graber will not run again and may move to West Virginia. His four year term ends December 31. Graber has been vocal on school issues, criticizing curriculum and budgets while proposing school funding cuts. He cited a desire to buy property in West Virginia.
