Outside firm to find next manager for Front Royal

Front Royal council decided to hire an outside search firm to locate the town’s next manager. The decision was not unanimous with Vice Mayor Gene Tewart and Councilman Bill Sealock preferring Town HR Director Julie Bush lead the process using Virginia Municipal League and ICMA resources.

Warren County Supervisors Chairwoman Reflects on 2016 Goals

In a Q and A with The Sentinel, Warren County Board of Supervisors chairwoman Gravis outlined 2016 achievements and previewed goals for 2017. She noted budget pressures from a second middle school opening costing about 1.5 million, with 600 000 already in the current budget, and emphasized funding needs to attract and retain staff amid wage competition with neighboring jurisdictions. Man pies on Va. 55 Driver not ticketed in fatal pedestrian strike

Front Royal man Jeffery Green, 56, died after being struck by a vehicle on John Marshall Highway near Rite Aid. Police say the driver Jason Mallow, 36, of Front Royal struck him around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 11. Green died at Winchester Medical Center after transfer from Warren Memorial Hospital. Police released details Jan. 12.
