Public hearings set for boundary adjustment in Front Royal
Front Royal and Warren County schedule public hearings this January on a boundary line adjustment to bring 84 acres into the town. The land near Happy Creek Road includes parcels for Leach Run Parkway, a new middle school and Warren Memorial Hospital site. Town hearing at 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Warren County Government Center. county hearing at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21.

Bald eagle released into wild after October accident in Warren County
A crowd of 100 plus watched the New Year’s Day release at Morgan Ford low water bridge in northeast Warren County. Virginia State Police rescued the bald eagle after it was struck on I-66 near Front Royal and treated at Blue Ridge Wildlife Center in Boyce. The bird needed surgery and 11 weeks rehab before release. BRWC reports treating 9,770 wild animals since opening. plans include a 4,700 square foot hospital and education center east of Winchester.
